ODC Task Force Conducts Foot Patrol in Sugapa While Distributing Food Aid
Jayapura (ANTARA) - Personnel from the Damai Cartenz Operation (ODC) task force conducted a foot patrol in Sugapa, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, while distributing food aid to residents.
Head of the Damai Cartenz Operation, Police Inspector General Faizal Ramadhani, stated on Monday that the patrol was carried out to maintain security while ensuring that community activities proceed normally.
The patrol, led by Tower Post Commander Ipda Andriansyah Umar, involved 15 ODC task force personnel. In addition to patrolling, the personnel distributed 25 food packages to residents encountered randomly along the patrol route.
According to Faizal, the patrol was also used as an opportunity to engage in dialogue with the community, convey messages regarding public security and order (kamtibmas), and encourage residents to work together in maintaining environmental safety.
“We prioritise dialogue, service, and a humanistic approach in every activity so that the community feels protected and comfortable in carrying out their daily lives,” he said.
Faizal explained that the patrol is a routine activity for the ODC task force and will continue to be carried out as long as weather conditions permit. During the patrol, personnel did not encounter any security disturbances or notable incidents in the Sugapa area.
A Sugapa resident named Merlin expressed happiness with the presence of the ODC task force personnel, who were seen not only maintaining security but also showing care for the community through the distribution of food aid.
