Ocha, LCC MPR Participant, Expresses Gratitude: Didn't Expect Such Huge Attention
Student from SMAN 1 Pontianak and participant in the Empat Pilar MPR RI Quiz Competition (LCC), Josepha Alexandra or Ocha, expressed thanks for the support given by the public. Ocha said that this support motivated her to be more enthusiastic and to develop further.
“From me and the team, we thank the public for their support and positive aspirations towards us. May this become a source of enthusiasm and motivation for us to develop and advance in the future,” said Ocha when met in the Tebet area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/5/2026). Ocha was in Jakarta after fulfilling an invitation from the Chairman of DPR RI Commission II, Rifqinizamy.
Ocha admitted to being shocked that her quiz video went viral. She did not expect the attention given by the public to her to be so great.
“My team and I actually did not expect that the attention could be this big and the video that spread also boomed,” she said.
On the same occasion, Rifqinizamy Karsayuda also appreciated the abilities of the LCC MPR participants from SMAN 1 Pontianak. As an alumnus of that high school, Rifqi also emphasised that the participants, who are still teenagers, must be protected psychologically.
“I think I was surprised to see the communication skills of my younger siblings. This, if it were me back then, would be first or second year of high school. At that time, when I led the OSIS in this high school, my communication skills weren’t as good as this,” said Rifqi.
“No less important, we must also be aware that they are teenagers who psychologically need to be protected,” he added.
In the circulating video viewed on Monday (11/5), the judges gave different scores for the same answer from participants. In the competition, Group C from SMAN 1 Pontianak received a minus five score for an answer related to the process of selecting BPK members.
However, a similar answer given by Group B from SMAN 1 Sambas was given a score of 10 by the same judge, namely the Head of the Assessment Bureau of the MPR RI General Secretariat, Dyastasita. Participants from Group C once protested because they felt their answer was the same. However, the judge stated that Group C’s answer did not clearly mention the Dewan Perwakilan Daerah (DPD).
MPR has also deactivated the judging panel and MC for that quiz event. MPR will comprehensively evaluate the activity.
“Regarding the buzz in social media news about the 2026 Empat Pilar LCC at the West Kalimantan provincial level, regarding the scoring of participants’ answers in one of the competition sessions, the organising committee from the MPR RI General Secretariat has deactivated the judging panel and MC for this LCC activity,” stated MPR on its official Instagram account on Tuesday (12/5).
