Ocean Liner from Holland
JAKARTA (JP): The Ocean Majesty liner with 450 Dutch
passengers is scheduled to arrive at Tanjung Priok port today.
The passengers, most of whom used to reside and work in
Indonesia during the Dutch colonial era, will be welcomed at the
port by Dutch Ambassador to Indonesia Brouwer accompanied by
Director General of Tourism Andi Mappisameng.
Their arrival is part of a 17-day trip in Indonesia. The liner
anchored in Medan on March 1 to 3 and will later visit Semarang
in Central Java, Surabaya in East Java and Bali before leaving
for Holland via Singapore on March 17.
The Sailing to the East cruise is the first in a scheduled
passenger ship link between the Netherlands and Indonesia.
The ship, which is chartered by SOC-Reizen, the tour operator
of PT Travel Contacts, departed from Amsterdam on Feb. 5. (hhr)
