OCBC One Connect 2026 Opens Business Collaboration Opportunities Between Indonesia and China in Renewable Energy Sector
OCBC Indonesia, in collaboration with OCBC Singapore, has once again organised OCBC One Connect 2026, a business platform that brings together Indonesian and Chinese companies to unlock opportunities and drive cross-border collaboration.
Since its inception in 2023, OCBC One Connect has evolved from a networking forum into a more targeted platform designed to facilitate market insight exchanges, connect strategic partners, and assist companies in translating opportunities into concrete business cooperation.
This year’s event was attended by Cahyo Purnomo, the Director of Promotion for East Asia, South Asia, Middle East, and Africa at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, who presented data regarding the realisation of Chinese investment in Indonesia from 2021 to the first half of 2026.
The development of this initiative aligns with the strengthening business activities between Indonesia and China facilitated by OCBC. OCBC Indonesia recorded an increase in Chinese business clients of more than 80% year-on-year as of July 2026, accompanied by credit and funding volumes that have doubled compared to the same period in the previous year.
“OCBC One Connect serves as a bridge for Chinese companies to enter and grow in Indonesia, while simultaneously supporting Indonesian companies in exploring opportunities in China and beyond. This year’s theme is Renewable Energy Value Chain Expansion, as we believe the energy transition plays a vital role not only in supporting sustainable development but also acts as a catalyst for investment, technological advancement, and Indonesia’s future economic growth,” said Martin Widjaja, Director of OCBC, in a press release on Wednesday.
This focus aligns with the progress of the national energy transition. According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the renewable energy mix in Indonesia reached 15.75% in 202<0xC2>5, with a total installed capacity of 15,630 MW. This momentum follows capacity additions last year, marking the largest increase in the last five years, thereby opening collaboration opportunities for manufacturers, technology providers, investors, and financing partners.
This year, OCBC One Connect brought together approximately 40 Chinese companies and 25 Indonesian companies in a more curated format. Through market insight sessions and business matching, participants were able to explore opportunities, align capabilities, and build partnerships.
Leveraging its cross-border network and integrated banking capabilities, OCBC will continue to support Indonesian and Chinese companies in identifying opportunities, building strategic connections, and achieving sustainable business growth.
