OCBC NISP Acquires OCBC Sekuritas and Great Eastern Life Indonesia
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk. (NISP), or OCBC Indonesia, has agreed to take over shares in PT OCBC Sekuritas Indonesia and PT Great Eastern Life Indonesia (GELI). This decision was made at the annual general meeting of shareholders (AGMS) of OCBC Indonesia held on Thursday (9/4/2026).
This is in implementation as the parent company of the financial conglomerate in accordance with the provisions of the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
“The meeting approved the takeover of shares in PT OCBC Securities Indonesia and PT Great Eastern Life Indonesia by the company.
This is in implementation as the parent company of the financial conglomerate in accordance with applicable provisions,” stated the President Director of OCBC Indonesia, Parwati Surjaudaja, during the AGMS press conference on Thursday (9/4/2026).
The provisions referred to are POJK No. 30 of 2024 on Financial Conglomerates and Financial Conglomerate Parent Companies, and the Copy of the Decision of the OJK Board of Commissioners Member No. Kep-14/KS.1/2025 dated 16 September 2025 regarding the approval of PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk. as the Operational Financial Conglomerate Parent Company over the OCBC Financial Conglomerate.
PT OCBC Sekuritas Indonesia is a subsidiary of OCBC Bank from Singapore. Citing the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) website, the majority shareholder of OCBC Sekuritas Indonesia is currently OCBC Singapore Ltd. (99%).
Meanwhile, GELI is also part of the OCBC Group. The majority shareholder of GELI is The Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Ltd. (99.48%) as of December 2024. That company is a subsidiary of the OCBC Group.
