Business activities of Chinese companies in Indonesia, facilitated by PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk (OCBC Indonesia), continue to rise. The number of Chinese business clients at OCBC Indonesia grew by more than 80% year-on-year as of July 2026.

This growth in client numbers was accompanied by an increase in credit and funding volumes, which recorded a twofold increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

This development aligns with the hosting of OCBC One Connect 2026, organised by OCBC Indonesia in collaboration with OCBC Singapore to bring together Indonesian and Chinese companies and open opportunities for cross-border cooperation.

OCBC Director Martin Widjaja stated that OCBC One Connect serves as a means to assist Chinese companies in entering and expanding their businesses in Indonesia, while simultaneously supporting Indonesian companies in exploring the Chinese market and the surrounding region.

“OCBC One Connect acts as a bridge for Chinese companies to enter and grow in Indonesia, while also supporting Indonesian companies in exploring opportunities in China and beyond,” Martin said in a press release cited on Wednesday (2/9/2026).

This year, OCBC One Connect adopted the theme ‘Renewable Energy Value Chain Expansion’, bringing together approximately 40 Chinese companies and 25 Indonesian companies through market insight sessions and business matching.

Martin noted that the energy transition could act as a catalyst for investment, technological advancement, and Indonesia’s economic growth. These opportunities also create space for collaboration among manufacturing companies, technology providers, investors, and financing partners.

According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Indonesia’s new and renewable energy (EBT) mix reached 15.75% in 2025, with a total installed capacity of 15,630 megawatts (MW).

OCBC believes that the development of the national energy transition can serve as a momentum to expand business cooperation between Indonesian and Chinese companies, particularly within the renewable energy value chain.

Since its launch in 2023, OCBC One Connect has evolved from a networking forum into a platform that connects companies with strategic partners, provides market insights, and facilitates business cooperation opportunities.

Through its cross-border network and integrated banking capabilities, OCBC will continue to support Indonesian and Chinese companies in identifying opportunities, building strategic connections, and developing businesses sustainably.
