Observing Islamic holidays

With regard to the two Islamic holy days -- Idul Fitri and
Idul Adha -- each of which is observed on different days by
Muslims here, I call on all Muslims in Indonesia and around the
world to unite in celebrating them on the same dates.

I know that would be hard to do, but we should have one
revered religious leader or institution who could enable us to
have a Muslim identity and be proud of it. It is not easy to
celebrate these holy days on different days or fast on days when
fasting is forbidden.

I am expecting some explanation on this from the related
authority.
