Observer Urges Attorney General's Office to Thoroughly Investigate Former JAM-Pidsus Case

The Anti-Corruption Community Coalition (KOMPAK) Indonesia has urged the Attorney General’s Office to thoroughly investigate the masterminds and main controllers behind the alleged corruption and money laundering case implicating former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (JAM-Pidsus), Febrie Adriansyah. This was emphasised by KOMPAK Indonesia Chairman Gabriel Martinus Goa during a discussion in Central Jakarta on Thursday (23/7/2026). Gabriel highlighted that Adriansyah has not been detained by the Attorney General’s Office despite being named a suspect by the police. He assessed that this situation raises concerns about potential intervention from powerful parties. “There are strong indications that Febrie Adriansyah is being protected by powerful figures behind him. Therefore, the investigation must not stop at Febrie alone, but must be bold enough to expose the main actors and those who gave the orders,” Gabriel stated. Besides criticising the current handling of the case, Gabriel also revealed Adriansyah’s track record when he served as Head of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) High Prosecutor’s Office. According to him, several alleged large-scale corruption cases in the region had previously drawn public attention but ended without clarity. He added that the series of scandals allegedly involving the former JAM-Pidsus, ranging from coal supply for power plants, Krakatau Steel, to ASABRI, have caused enormous losses to the national economy and deprived the public of their socio-economic rights. “Many major cases in NTT during his tenure as Kajati were swept under the rug. Therefore, FA must be punished as severely as possible because law enforcers who rob the people’s rights have caused suffering to ordinary citizens,” Gabriel revealed. To end disputes and potential conflicts of interest among law enforcement agencies, KOMPAK Indonesia requested the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) to continue supervising and overseeing the handling of this case. “KOMPAK Indonesia also requests the President together with the DPR RI to take over the handling of this case so that the infighting among law enforcement officials can be ended immediately. At the same time, the public also needs to monitor it closely,” Gabriel stated.
