Observer: Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads Strengthens Food Distribution Connectivity
Public Policy Observer from Trisakti University, Trubus Rahadiansyah, stated that Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 11 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of Regional Road Connectivity Improvement to Support Food and Energy Self-Sufficiency, or the Regional Road Inpres, is beneficial for strengthening food distribution connectivity.
“This is actually a good policy because, so far, in regions, especially those with high food self-sufficiency potential, infrastructure access and logistics should be able to be distributed evenly and quickly,” said Trubus when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to him, this Regional Road Inpres aids the construction and repair of roads that are damaged or need upgrading in the regions, particularly in food production centres.
“The essence is actually connectivity. Because of that connectivity, this development policy is very good, as many roads in the regions are already damaged,” said Trubus.
Trubus suggested that supervision of the construction and repair management of these regional roads be enhanced so that they can be sustainable and widely utilised by the community.
For information, the Regional Road Inpres was issued in order to realise the Asta Cita Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045, and to encourage national independence through food and energy self-sufficiency. It necessitates the acceleration of regional road connectivity improvement to support the productivity of food zones and energy distribution.
This Inpres also instructs the taking of integrated steps according to respective duties to carry out regional road development activities that are connected and integrated to improve the connectivity of regional roads that have met the readiness criteria, both those whose status has been determined as provincial and district/city roads and those whose status has not yet been determined. Primarily, it supports the productivity of agricultural areas, fishery areas, plantation areas, industrial areas, and other productive areas, as well as supporting energy distribution in the context of achieving food and energy self-sufficiency.
