Observations at Petrol Stations Along the Wonogiri–Solo Route: Queues Occur at Specific Times
SOLO - Rumours of fuel price increases in April 2026 are circulating among the public, sparking attention from vehicle users. Nevertheless, observations at several petrol stations along the route from Wonogiri to Solo show that refuelling activities are proceeding normally. Vehicle queues are visible at certain times, particularly during busy morning and evening hours. Outside those times, the petrol stations are relatively quiet without any significant surges. Field observations reveal that queues generally occur during commuting hours for school and work. Dita, one of the drivers met while queuing at a petrol station in the Wonogiri area, said that the congestion does not last all day. “Usually, queues happen at specific times like departure and return for school or office, but in the afternoon, it’s not too crowded because it’s sometimes hot,” she told Kompas.com on Tuesday (31/3/2026). She also said she still chooses to use Pertalite because it is considered more affordable. According to her, the issue of Pertamax price increases does not significantly affect her refuelling habits. Joko, another driver, expressed a similar view. He said he is not greatly affected by the rumour of Pertamax price increases of up to Rp 5,000 per litre because he does not use that type of fuel. “Not too affected, because I use Pertalite for daily vehicles,” said Joko. Despite the circulating fuel price increase rumours, conditions on the ground show that the public is still carrying out activities as usual.
