Obituary: Former ESDM Secretary General Rida Mulyana Passes Away

Former Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) and Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Rida Mulyana, has passed away. Information from the Ministry of ESDM stated, ‘Innalillahi Wainnailaihi Roji’un. Our deepest condolences on the passing of Mr Rida Mulyana, former Secretary General of the Ministry of ESDM, this afternoon at around 17.00 WIB at Pondok Indah Bintaro Hospital.’ Rida Mulyana was born on 2 May 1963 in Sumedang, West Java. Before retiring in 2023, he served as Secretary General of the Ministry of ESDM in 2022 and also as a Commissioner at PT Pertamina (Persero). He previously held the position of Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) in 2013 and Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of ESDM in 2019. Rida Mulyana earned his bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), graduating in 1988. He later obtained a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of London in 1992.
