NZ gives $1.4m to RI
JAKARTA (JP): The New Zealand Government is giving US$1.4 million for technical assistance through its Official Development Assistance program, the country's ambassador to Indonesia, Tim Groser, said yesterday.
Groser said the money would support a three-year integrated farm development project in Eastern Indonesia.
The project is aimed at increasing poorer farmers' income and social welfare by increasing production and livestock populations, he said.
Over 30,000 cattle and goats would be distributed in Eastern Indonesian provinces of Sulawesi, and Maluku, he said.
The ambassador, together with Director General of Livestock Erwin Soetirto, will symbolically hand over the livestock to farmers in Bulukumba regency, South Sulawesi, on Feb. 21. (02)
