NZ Embassy responds

I write in response to a letter written by Aji Saptaji published in The Jakarta Post on April 29, 2002.

All applications for New Zealand visas are carefully considered and decisions are made on the basis of each applicant's unique circumstances and the documentation submitted in support of their application.

Decisions to decline visa applications are not taken lightly and are made only when there are good reasons to do so. In Aji Saptaji's case, the decision was made after careful consideration of his application and the validity of the documentation that he submitted. Aji Saptaji is welcome to contact us at the New Zealand Embassy at any time to discuss his visa application.

The New Zealand Immigration Service in Jakarta receives many applications for visas each year and the majority of these are approved. New Zealand welcomes travelers from Indonesia and genuine visitors are encouraged to submit visa applications at any time.
