NYPD nabs RI-born for extortion

JAKARTA: The New York Police Department (NYPD) arrested on
Saturday an Indonesian-born U.S. citizen for extortion against
Indonesian Consul-General Kristio Wahyono.

The man, identified only by his initials CK, is the employee
of Indonesian maid Faridah Abdullah, who made a claim before a
notary that she had sex with 41 people, mostly Indonesian
officials, for money.

"We have received the confirmation about the arrest from the
police," Indonesian consulate information chief Iwanshah Wibisono
said.

Faridah remains in New York, but the consulate has been trying
to persuade her to return to Indonesia. -- Antara
