Operations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport will be temporarily halted beginning Thursday, 19 March 2026 at 06:00 WITA until Friday, 20 March 2026 at 06:00 WITA.

The operational closure forms part of the airport’s commitment to support and respect the observance of the holy day of Nyepi on the island of Bali.

“In accordance with Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) number A0096 issued by Perum LPPNPI/AirNav Indonesia, all regular commercial flight activities at the airport will be suspended from Thursday, 19 March 2026 at 06:00 WITA until Friday, 20 March 2026 at 06:00 WITA,” a spokesperson stated.

During this period, no regular flights will depart or arrive at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. The operational closure has been coordinated with all aviation stakeholders.

Individual airlines have informed passengers of flight schedule adjustments. “The temporary suspension of airport operations during Nyepi has been routinely implemented every year, enabling the Hindu community on the island of Bali to observe the Catur Brata Penyepian ceremony with reverence,” the spokesperson said.

The airport has coordinated with all stakeholders to ensure services to airport users remain optimal before and after the operational shutdown period. This includes medical flights or special purpose flights if necessary and with approval from relevant authorities.

During the Nyepi period, a total of 440 scheduled commercial flights will not operate, comprising 231 domestic route flights and 209 international route flights.

During the flight suspension period, 19 aircraft are planned to remain overnight (RON) at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.
