Nuu B40 5G Launches with Rear AMOLED Display forNotifications and Music Control

Nuu Mobile, an Indonesian smartphone manufacturer, has officially launched the B40 5G in the United States. Notably, the device includes a feature rarely seen even in premium phones: a secondary rear display.

The Nuu B40 5G is equipped with a 1.6-inch AMOLED rear display called ‘Vista Display’, integrated directly with the camera module. This rectangular screen boasts a 460 x 228 pixel resolution and brightness up to 500 nits, ensuring visibility outdoors. It can display time, charging status, notifications, music controls, step counters, and more without turning on the main screen.

Additionally, the secondary display can function as a viewfinder for the rear camera, simplifying selfies. Such features are typically found only in high-endfoldable or flagship phones.

The primary 6.7-inch AMOLED curved display has a 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution, with brightness up to 1,100 nits for better sun visibility.

The camera system includes a 64MP main sensor with a 2MP macro lens and a 16MP front-facing camera.

Performance is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7025 chipset with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, running Android 15 out of the box — a rarity in this price bracket.

A 5,000mAh battery supports 33W fast charging, alongside an in-display fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5.2, dual SIM, and 5G connectivity.

Priced at US$249.99 (around£200) in the US, it drops to US$199 ( approximately£160) during launch promotions. While not intended to rival flagship performance or camera quality, the rear AMOLED display makes it stand out among budget smartphones.
