Nusron Wahid's whereabouts under scrutiny following ATR/BPN sting operation; Ossy: We communicate daily
The whereabouts of the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, have become a focal point after he failed to attend meetings at Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) for two consecutive days. Nusron’s absence has raised questions as it occurs amidst investigations into alleged bribery involving officials within the ATR/BPN Ministry.
The Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN, Ossy Dermawan, confirmed that his assignment to attend the committee meetings on Tuesday (15/09/2026) and Wednesday (16/09/2026) was a direct instruction from Nusron Wahid. Ossy stated that communication with Nusron remains ongoing and is not influenced by the ongoing KPK investigation.
“I attended here yesterday representing him; it was certainly an assignment from him as the Minister. Regarding the Minister’s agenda and schedule, it likely aligns with his pre-existing commitments,” Ossy said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (16/09).
When pressed regarding Nusron’s exact position and whereabouts, Ossy admitted he needed to conduct further verification with the ATR/BPN Minister’s Secretariat. “I must check with the Minister’s Secretariat regarding that matter. (Regarding monitoring the case) I cannot comment on that as I am not by his side, but we are certainly following it. We communicate every day, as the ministry is still led by him,” Ossy asserted.
Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in the Greater Jakarta area on 14 September 2026. The operation related to alleged corruption in the processing of Building Use Rights (HGB) for a private company in Bogor Regency, West Java.
A day later, the KPK named eight individuals as suspects in the alleged bribery case within the ATR/BPN Ministry. These include the Director General of Land and Spatial Control and Order at the Ministry, Lampri; the Head of the Bogor I Land Office, Sontang Coin Manurising; the President Director of a private developer, Adrianto Pitojo Adhi; and Rizal Pahlevi, acting as a private party or developer intermediary.
Other suspects include the former Regent of Kebumen, Arif Sugiyanto; the Chairman of the Golkar Party, Fahd El Fouz (also known as Fahd Arafiq); and private individuals Erwin and Muhammad Fakhry. The latter four are alleged to be trusted associates of Minister Nusron Wahid.
The KPK stated that the summoning of Minister Nusron Wahid regarding the alleged corruption within the Ministry will depend on the investigators’ requirements.
In early August 2026, it was reported that information was received regarding a request for processing fees amounting to Rp2 billion. The funds collected were allegedly part of a chain of collection from various land service matters, and the money did not stop with the primary suspects.
The KPK secured 19 individuals during the sting operation related to the alleged corruption in the Ministry of ATR/BPN, involving land officials, private parties, and drivers.
