The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is continuing to accelerate the resolution of land service files, with the ultimate target of achieving zero backlog. This target was reaffirmed by Minister of ATR/Head of BPN Nusron Wahid, as quoted by Kompas.com on Saturday (18/4/2026). “There has already been a reduction (in the number of land service files) over this one quarter. The level of reduction is up to 22,000. The progress is already good, but our target is for files (received) in Quarters I, II, and III of 2025 to already be zero files,” said Nusron. He instructed his subordinates to complete the files in line with the set time targets. Nusron also urged Provincial BPN Regional Offices (Kanwil) that still have remaining 2025 file resolution targets to immediately hold special meetings to speed up completion. In the meeting, Nusron also requested relevant officials, including Director General of Rights Determination and Land Registration (Dirjen PHPT) Asnaedi, Director General of Land and Spatial Survey and Mapping (SPPR) Virgo Eresta Jaya, Inspector General (Irjen) Pudji Prasetijanto Hadi, and the Centre for Land and Spatial Data and Information (Pusdatin), to formulate strategies for preventing and handling files. “We create a strategy to cleanse (files) in this way. Then how to ensure the same incident does not happen again. Whether through technological mitigation or IT systems, and then how the SOP mitigation is,” he said. Meanwhile, Head of Pusdatin I Ketut Gede Ary Sucaya reported that national file resolution progress shows a positive trend, evident from the increasing number of files successfully completed. “The total reduction in 2025 land service files is 12,285 files; this reduction is quite substantial even though we experienced a long holiday period recently,” he explained. He added that several factors still cause files to be held up at Land Offices (Kantah). These include disputes, land boundary issues, and incomplete files that are still awaiting applicants to complete the documents.
