Nusron Wahid: We Respect the KPK's Legal Process
The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN), Nusron Wahid, has emphasised that he respects the legal process currently being conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
It is reported that the KPK has uncovered significant amounts of cash during its investigation into alleged bribery related to the management of building rights (HGB) in Bogor Regency, West Java. This includes Rp8 billion found within nine red suitcases.
These findings are part of an investigation that has already implicated eight individuals as suspects. The KPK has identified four suspects from the private sector as individuals allegedly trusted by Minister Nusron Wahid.
“As I have already stated regarding that matter, we respect the legal process being carried out by the KPK. Our position is to respect and follow the existing process,” Nusron told journalists at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 21 September 2026.
Nusron declined to comment further regarding the alleged corruption case within his ministry, including when asked about any evaluations that might be conducted following the allegations.
“I am about to leave. This is not the way, this is not the way. I apologise, I have my privacy while walking, please,” he remarked.
Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that the summoning of the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency, Nusron Wahid, for questioning in the investigation of alleged corruption within the Ministry of ATR/BPN would depend on the investigators’ needs.
“Whether NW (Nusron Wahid) will be summoned? Yes, that depends on the needs of the investigation moving forward,” said the Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Taufik stated that the KPK suspects four of the eight individuals named as suspects in the case are associates of Nusron Wahid, based on statements and evidence obtained by the anti-corruption agency.
“We obtained this based on statements collected by the team, as well as several pieces of electronic evidence secured by investigators,” he said.
Earlier, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in the Jabodetabek area on Monday, 14 September 2026. The operation was related to alleged corruption in the management of building rights (HGB) for PT Summarecon Agung Tbk in Bogor Regency, West Java.
