Nusron Wahid Speaks Out After Close Associates Arrested by KPK
The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, has stated that he respects the legal process currently being conducted by the KPK regarding the investigation into alleged land mafia cases within the ATR/BPL ministry.
It is reported that the KPK uncovered significant amounts of cash during its investigation into alleged bribery related to the processing of Building Use Rights (HGB) in Bogor Regency, West Java. This includes Rp8 billion found inside nine red suitcases.
These findings are part of an investigation that has already implicated eight individuals as suspects. The KPK has identified four suspects from the private sector as individuals allegedly trusted by Minister Nusron Wahid. These individuals are Arif Sugiyanto (ARF), Fahd El Fouz, also known as Fahd A Rafiq (FEZ), Erwin (ERW), and Muhammad Fakhry (MF).
“Firstly, we respect what is being processed by the law enforcement agencies, in this case, the KPK. We will also follow and assist in the ongoing process,” Nusron told reporters on Friday, 18 September 2026.
He emphasised that the Ministry of ATR/BPN will follow and assist in all legal processes carried out by the KPK as a form of support for law enforcement and the eradication of corruption.
According to Nusron, the legal process is expected to serve as a momentum to accelerate the improvement of services within land offices to ensure governance becomes better, more transparent, and more accountable to the public.
“I hope that through this incident, there will be an accelerated process of service improvement within the internal land offices. That is my view,” he said.
Nusron has fully entrusted the investigation process to the KPK as the institution authorised to conduct law enforcement. He stressed that since the ongoing investigation falls under the authority of law enforcement agencies, any developments regarding the case should await official results from the KPK.
The Ministry of ATR/BPN, Nusron continued, is committed to being cooperative throughout the investigation and supports law enforcement measures to strengthen the integrity of land services in Indonesia.
“We are following this process and we hand it over entirely to the KPK as the law enforcement agency,” he said.
On the other hand, he stated that all land services continue to operate normally despite the Corruption Eradication Commission’s ongoing investigation into alleged corruption within his ministry.
