Nusron Wahid Skips Questioning, KPK Issues Pointed Reminder: Officials Should Set an Example

Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has reminded Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning and Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid to attend a rescheduled re-examination as a witness in an alleged corruption case within his ministry.

The KPK asked Nusron to prioritise the examination that investigators have scheduled. The anti-graft agency also cautioned that his absence should not give the impression that law enforcement is being deliberately delayed.

“Jangan sampai kemudian muncul persepsi atau preseden menunda-menunda penegakan hukum,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday (8/10/26).

According to Budi, the reminder was issued because Nusron is a public official who should set an example in supporting the enforcement of the law.

“Terlebih, sebagai pejabat publik hendaknya juga menjadi teladan dalam bernegara. Salah satunya dengan mendukung proses penegakan hukum,” he said.

Budi again urged Nusron to prioritise the re-examination that KPK investigators will carry out.

Nusron did not attend the witness examination on Wednesday (7/10/26). He cited an internal agenda at the ATR/BPN ministry.

“KPK mengimbau agar saksi kooperatif dan hadir dalam penjadwalan ulang tersebut, serta memprioritaskan kepatuhan dan penghormatan terhadap proses hukum yang sedang berjalan,” he said.

The case involving the ATR/BPN ministry began with a KPK sting operation (operasi tangkap tangan, OTT) in the Jabodetabek area on 14 September 2026.

The operation related to alleged corruption in the processing of a building use right (hak guna bangunan) for PT Summarecon Agung Tbk in Bogor Regency, West Java.

The day after the sting, the KPK named eight people as suspects in the alleged bribery case within the ATR/BPN ministry.

They are Director General for Land Control and Land Arrangement Lampri, Head of the Bogor I Land Office Sontang Coin Manurung, President Director of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk Adrianto Pitojo Adhi, and Rizal Pahlevi, a private party or intermediary for Summarecon.

Also named were former Kebumen Regent Arif Sugiyanto, Golkar Party DPP chairman Fahd El Fouz, alias Fahd Arafiq, and two private individuals, Erwin and Muhammad Fakhry.

The KPK suspects that Arif, Fahd, Erwin and Muhammad Fakhry were trusted associates of Nusron. As part of the investigation, the KPK has also carried out a series of searches at several locations.
