Nusron Wahid Has Resigned from Golkar Party Management

The Secretary General of the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board (DPP), M. Sarmuji, has revealed that Nusron Wahid has resigned from the party’s central management. Nusron has been distanced from the affairs of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), which is currently under investigation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“It happened a long time ago. As far as I remember, it was more than six months ago,” Sarmuji stated when contacted in Jakarta on Saturday.

Nusron previously served as the Head of the Religious and Spiritual Affairs Division for the Golkar Party’s DPP. Following his resignation, Sarmuji noted that Nusron remains a regular member and cadre within the Golkar Party.

He added that Nusron submitted his resignation directly to the General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia. However, he did not know the exact reason why the man, who currently serves as the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), decided to step down.

“Perhaps he wants to focus on other matters,” he said.
