Nusron held discussions with Bahlil prior to resigning from Golkar leadership

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Golkar politician and Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency, Nusron Wahid, has admitted that he held discussions with the General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, before resigning from the leadership of the banyan-symbol party.

Met after a meeting at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, Nusron stated that he had been discussing the matter with Bahlil since 2025.

“Regarding that matter, we have been discussing it with Mr Bahlil since last year. Therefore, it is better to ask Mr Bahlil as the General Chairman. We have discussed this issue for a long time,” he said.

When asked about the reason for his resignation from the Golkar Party leadership, Nusron declined to provide an answer. He also did not respond to questions regarding his future focus after no longer being part of the party’s management.

“It has been a long time. As far as I remember, it was more than six months ago,” said Sarmuji when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Saturday (19/9).

Nusron was originally recorded as the Head of the Religious and Spiritual Affairs Division of the Golkar Party Central Executive Board (DPP).

With this resignation, Sarmuji noted that Nusron will now remain a regular member or cadre within the Golkar Party.

According to him, Nusron submitted his resignation directly to the General Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP, Bahlil Lahadalia.

Nevertheless, Sarmuji admitted he did not know the exact reason for Nusron’s resignation.

“Perhaps he wants to focus on other matters,” he said.
