Nusron Finally Speaks Out Regarding ATR/BPN Corruption Case at KPK
The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, has finally spoken out in response to the alleged corruption case within his ministry currently being investigated by the KPK.
Nusron stated that he respects the legal process being conducted by the KPK regarding the investigation into alleged land mafia activities related to the management of Building Use Rights (HGB) in Bogor Regency.
“First, we respect what is being processed by the law enforcement agencies, in this case, the KPK. We will also follow and assist in the ongoing process,” said Nusron when met in Jakarta on Friday (18/9).
According to Nusron, the legal process by the KPK is expected to serve as a momentum to accelerate the improvement of services within land offices to ensure governance becomes better, more transparent, and accountable to the public.
“Hopefully, through this incident, there will be an accelerated process of service improvement within the internal land offices. I believe that is the case,” he said.
Responding to questions regarding the mention of his name in the case, Nusron left the investigation process entirely to the KPK. He emphasised that the entire investigation process is the authority of law enforcement agencies. Therefore, any developments in the case should await the official results of the KPK’s examination.
The Ministry of ATR/BPN, Nusron continued, is committed to being cooperative throughout the investigation process and supports law enforcement measures to strengthen the integrity of land services in Indonesia.
“We are following this process and we leave it entirely to the KPK as the law enforcement agency,” he said.
Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in the Jabodetabek area on 14 September 2026. The operation was related to alleged corruption in the management of Building Use Rights (HGB) for PT Summarecon Agung Tbk in Bogor Regency, West Java.
A day later, the KPK named eight individuals as suspects in the alleged bribery case within the Ministry of ATR/BPN. Four of the eight suspects are alleged by the KPK to be trusted associates of Nusron.
These individuals include the former Regent of Kebumen, Arif Sugiyanto; Golkar Party politician, Fahd El Fouz (alias Fahd A Rafiq); Erwin (private sector); and Muhammad Fakhry (private sector).
The other four suspects undergoing legal proceedings are the Head of the Bogor Regency Land Office, Sontang Coin Manurung; President Director of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk, Adrianto Pitojo Adhi; Director General of Land and Spatial Control and Order at the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Lampri; and Rizal Pahlevi (private sector).
On 17 September 2026, KPK investigators searched the offices of Lampri, the Director General of Land Survey, Mapping, and Spatial Planning at the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Virgo Eresta Jaya, the Director General of Land Rights Determination and Registration at the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Asnaedi, as well as relevant directorate offices related to the case.
However, the KPK confirmed that they did not search Nusron Wahid’s office.
