Nusron Distributes 33 Land Certificates in Central Sulawesi, Mostly Waqf Land
JAKARTA - The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, handed over 33 land certificates for places of worship and religious educational foundations in Central Sulawesi on Wednesday (1/4/2026). This handover is part of the acceleration of certification to strengthen the legality of religious assets in the region. The 33 certificates were given to managers of places of worship and foundations from nine regencies/cities in Central Sulawesi Province. This step is expected to provide legal certainty over waqf land while preventing potential future disputes. Of the total certificates handed over, 16 are Certificates of Ownership (SHM) and 17 are waqf certificates. This certification is expected to strengthen the protection of religious assets while supporting their optimal utilisation for the community. One of the recipients, Ahmad Zaini Ismail, as the nadzir of the Dhiyaaul Ma’Rifah Indonesia Foundation in Sigi, stated that the certificate is used for the land of the pesantren he manages. He mentioned that the processing went smoothly and provides benefits for the continuity of the educational institution. “This is a good initial capital for us as pesantren managers to obtain operational permits. Because the permit issuer requires the legal status of the foundation’s land certificate or pesantren land,” he said. In addition to the certificate handover, Nusron also inaugurated the Nurul Ikhlas Mosque, built by the extended family of the Ministry of ATR/BPN Central Sulawesi. The mosque is expected to be utilised as a centre for worship and social religious activities for employees and the surrounding community.
