Nusron Confirms Discussions with Bahlil Regarding Position in Golkar Party
The Minister of ATR/BPN, Nusron Wahid, has spoken out regarding his resignation from the central leadership (DPP) of the Golkar Party. So, what was Nusron’s reason?
As reported on Tuesday (22/9/2026), Nusron’s resignation was initially confirmed by the Vice Chairman of Golkar, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, on Saturday (19/9). He stated that Nusron had submitted his resignation from the Golkar Party leadership several months ago.
“Brother Nusron indeed submitted his resignation from the DPP Golkar leadership several months ago,” said Doli.
Nusron is a member of the Golkar Party’s central leadership. In the 2024-2029 period of the DPP Golkar administration, Nusron served as the Head of the Religious and Spiritual Affairs Division.
Golkar Party Secretary-General Sarmuji stated that Nusron resigned six months ago. It is said that Nusron stepped down from the Golkar leadership to focus on other matters.
“Mr Nusron resigned from the leadership more than six months ago. Perhaps he wants to focus on other things,” Sarmuji told reporters on Monday (21/9).
Nusron’s Admission
Nusron has finally spoken out regarding his resignation from the Golkar Party leadership. Nusron admitted that he has been in discussions with the General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, since last year.
“Regarding that, we have been discussing it with Mr Bahlil for a long time, since last year. Therefore, it is better to ask Mr Bahlil as the General Chairman; we have discussed that matter for a long time,” said Nusron following a Working Meeting at the DPR, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (21/9).
Nusron did not explain the detailed reasons for his resignation from the party. He spoke about his right to privacy.
“I am sorry, I am sorry, I have privacy to proceed, is it allowed for me to proceed?” he replied after reporters asked several questions, including considerations regarding his withdrawal from the DPP Golkar.
