Nusron Addresses Resignation from Golkar Party Board: Discussions with Bahlil Began Last Year

The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN), Nusron Wahid, has admitted that he has resigned from the central leadership board (DPP) of the Golkar Party.

Nusron explained that the decision had been planned and discussed for a long time with the General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia.

“Regarding that matter, we have been discussing it with Mr Bahlil since last year,” Nusron told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 21 September 2026.

Nusron requested that further inquiries regarding his resignation from the Golkar DPP board be directed to Bahlil.

“So, for the rest, it is better to ask Mr Bahlil as the General Chairman. We have discussed that issue for a long time,” he concluded.

Previously reported, the Secretary General of the Golkar DPP, S Sarmuji, revealed that Nusron Wahid had already resigned from the central leadership board of the Golkar Party.

“It has been a long time. As I recall, more than six months ago,” Sarmuji said when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Saturday.

Nusron previously served as the Head of the Religious and Spiritual Affairs Division of the Golkar DPP. Following his resignation, Sarmuji revealed that Nusron remains a regular member or cadre of the Golkar Party.

He stated that Nusron submitted his resignation directly to the General Chairman of the Golkar DPP, Bahlil Lahadalia. However, he did not know the exact reason why the man, who currently serves as the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), resigned.

“Perhaps he wants to focus on other matters,” he said.

In the structure of the Golkar DPP management for the 2024–2029 period led by Bahlil Lahadalia, Nusron was recorded as the Head of the Religious and Spiritual Affairs Division, falling under Electoral Function 1.

Nusron’s name has recently surfaced following an operation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) within the Ministry of ATR/BPN regarding alleged bribery related to the Building Use Rights (HGB) of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk.

Nusron Wahid emphasised that he was unaware of the details of the case. The Ministry of ATR/BPN has also denied rumours regarding Nusron resigning from his ministerial position.
