Nus Kei Stabbing Case Escalates! SPDP Officially Sent to Prosecutors
Ambon, VIVA - Investigators from the Satreskrim of the Southeast Maluku Police Resort have sent the Notification of the Commencement of Investigation (SPDP) regarding the stabbing case of the Chairman of the DPD II Golkar Party in Southeast Maluku, Agrapinus Rumatora alias Nus Kei, which resulted in his death, to the Southeast Maluku Prosecutor’s Office.
“The SPDP has been handed over to the Southeast Maluku Prosecutor’s Office as official notification that the investigation is underway. This is a mandatory legal mechanism,” stated the Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Regional Police, Commissioner Rositah Umasugi, on Thursday, 23 April 2026.
Rositah explained that the submission of the SPDP signifies the beginning of coordination between investigators and prosecutors in handling the case.
The case concerns an alleged murder that resulted in the victim’s death due to stabbing.
Previously, two suspected perpetrators with initials HR and FU were secured and examined in connection with the stabbing incident that occurred at Karel Sadsuitubun Airport in Southeast Maluku on Sunday, 19 April 2026, which led to the victim’s death.
Police authorities have designated both as suspects and carried out detention after they underwent examination.
On 22 April 2026, investigators sent the SPDP to the prosecutor’s office as the basis for coordinating the case handling up to the trial stage.
Rositah affirmed that all stages of case handling have been in accordance with legal provisions.
“The police ensure that the security and public order situation in the Southeast Maluku region remains conducive, while urging the public not to be provoked and to entrust the legal process to the authorities,” she said.
