Golkar Party member of the House of Representatives, Nurul Arifin, has emphasised that the homework or tasks for women in the world of politics remain unfinished to this day.

Nurul invited women to continue struggling. Because women today are still faced with a number of problems in the social environment and remain a vulnerable group.

“Let us continue to struggle and the homework is not yet finished until today, not complete. Because there are always new problems like now in the digital world with technological advancements and so on,” said Nurul Arifin when contacted on Wednesday (6/5).

The member of the House of Representatives Commission on foreign affairs and defence stated that women today remain a vulnerable group because they often become victims of harassment and sexual violence in their environment.

Nurul previously received the Lifetime Dedication in Parliamentary and Digital Transformation Achievement award at the CNN Indonesia Leading Women Awards 2026.

Nurul praised the event because many women became champions in their respective fields.

“So this is very rich indeed. And all women with their professional backgrounds, whether in politics, social culture, environment, bankers, all enjoyed the award,” said Nurul.

In politics, for Nurul, women must continue to demonstrate professionalism and their advocacy for the people who have elected them. Women must also be able to enlighten and colour policies that are not only pro-people, but also pro-women.

“Besides commitment, also consistency. This is also important. So if I receive lifetime dedication, yes, because there I always act professionally, respect the choice of the people, and the party as well,” said Nurul.

“Once again, thank you to CNN. Thank you to the community that has supported, and also women in politics,” she added.

The Leading Women Awards 2026 was held by CNN Indonesia as a form of appreciation for inspirational women in the country who have contributed in various fields.

In this edition, the Leading Women Awards 2026 took the theme ‘Empowered Women, Empowering the Nation’. This theme highlights women as pillars of national civilisation.

Nurul Arifin stood alongside several other female figures who received awards in various categories of the Leading Women Awards 2026, including Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Ribka Haluk; Head of Regional Cooperation Bureau of DKI Jakarta, Marulina Dewi; Regent of Serang, Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah.
