Number Plate Violations Target of Operation Patuh 2026
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Operation Patuh is set to take place from 8-21 June 2026, adopting a regional autonomous operation concept with adjustments to local characteristics. Titled ‘Digital Transformation of Law Enforcement to Achieve a Law-Abiding and Orderly Traffic Society’, the operation will focus on violations that hinder the effectiveness of electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE). ‘This year’s Operation Patuh prioritises digital law enforcement through ETLE, with all personnel required to maximise support for its implementation,’ said Kombes Pol. Aries Syahbudin, Head of Operations at the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri), in a statement on Monday, 25 May 2026. According to Aries, these violations are concerning as they impede ETLE camera systems during electronic law enforcement processes. Additionally, violations such as driving against traffic flow will still be enforced using conventional tickets by on-site officers. ‘Sympathetic warnings will still be issued in certain situations deemed more effective with a humanistic approach, but their proportion will be limited to 10 per cent,’ he added.
