Number of Students Suspected of Food Poisoning from Free Nutritious Meal Programme at Sidoarjo Boarding School Rises to 500

The number of students suspected of being poisoned after consuming Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) at the Manbaul Hikam Islamic Boarding School, Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo, has increased. The number of students suspected of food poisoning has now reached 500 people.

According to reports on Wednesday (2/9/2026), the students are being treated in eight hospitals across Sidoarjo. Based on the latest medical handling data, out of the total 500 students being treated, 320 patients have been discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile, 65 patients are currently hospitalised, and the remaining 115 patients are still under medical observation.

RSUD Notopuro Sidoarjo is the healthcare facility hosting the largest number of patients, reaching 334 students. Specifically, 239 patients have been discharged, 92 patients are still under observation, and 3 patients are hospitalised.

Furthermore, RS Siti Hajar is treating 74 patients (29 hospitalised, 40 discharged, 5 under observation) and RSU Aisyiyah Siti Fatimah is caring for 47 patients (8 hospitalised, 39 discharged). Additionally, RS Delta Surya has 20 patients (15 hospitalised, 1 discharged, 4 under observation), RS Pusura is treating 13 patients (all under observation), RS Pusdik Bhayangkara Porong is hosting 8 patients (all hospitalised), RS Arafah Anwar Medika is handling 3 patients (2 hospitalised, 1 discharged), and RS Anwar Medika is treating 1 patient who is still under observation.

The Head of Bhayangkara Hospital Pusdik Porong, Zaid, confirmed that all patients admitted to his facility require intensive care in the inpatient ward.

“As of this morning, there are still 8 students undergoing inpatient treatment,” said Zaid.
