Number of KA Pangrango Passengers Increases Over the Past Five Years
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta reports that the number of passengers on the KA Pangrango train, serving the Bogor Paledang-Sukabumi route, has increased since 2022 up to the first quarter of 2026.
“Over the past five years, KA Pangrango has demonstrated very significant growth, reflecting increasing public trust as well as the strengthening role of railways in supporting mobility and the people’s economy,” said Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, in Jakarta on Thursday.
He detailed that the number of KA Pangrango passengers in 2022 was 523,265 people, increasing to 786,001 in 2023, then to 874,789 in 2024, and to 1,109,398 in 2025.
“In the first quarter of 2026, the number was 281,659 passengers,” said Franoto.
He added that in the first quarter period, the growth trend also shows acceleration from year to year, namely 174,941 passengers in the first quarter of 2023, then 187,534 in the first quarter of 2024, and increasing to 245,740 in the first quarter of 2025.
“There was around 7 percent growth per quarter in 2024 compared to 2023, then a significant jump of 31 percent in 2025, and growth again of around 15 percent in 2026. This pattern indicates that demand for KA Pangrango services continues to increase progressively,” explained Franoto.
Franoto stated that KA Pangrango serves the strategic Bogor Paledang – Sukabumi route with stops at several important stations such as Batutulis, Maseng, Cigombong, Cicurug, Parungkuda, Cibadak, Karangtengah, Cisaat, up to Sukabumi.
The advantages of KA Pangrango over other modes of transportation lie in its punctuality due to being free from traffic jams, high safety levels, and travel comfort.
This train has fares ranging from Rp45,000 to Rp80,000. Passengers from Sukabumi arriving at Bogor Paledang Station can continue their journey using the KRL Commuter Line via Bogor Station, which is connected.
In the future, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta will continue to strengthen services, increase capacity, and expand intermodal integration to ensure that KA Pangrango remains a mainstay for connectivity.
