Number of errant bus firms up

JAKARTA (JP): Head of City Land Transportation Control Agency (DLLAJ) J.P. Sepang announced yesterday that the number of bus companies found guilty of violating regulations during Idul Fitri transportation operation increased to 21.

Sepang told reporters yesterday his office has submitted a report on the violations to the directorate general of land transportation.

"We have also provided evidence of their violations to the directorate general, who will later reprimand those companies," Sepang said.

He explained the violations include, among others, substantially increasing fares beyond the permitted level, operating at illegal bus terminals, dropping off passengers on toll roads and shunning passengers at official bus terminals.

Among the errant bus companies are Dahlia Indah, Benteng Mulia, Handoyo, Damri, Limex Indah, Rosalia Indah, Gunung Mulia and Tunggal Dara. (yns)
