PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk recorded a 44 percent year-to-date increase in the number of customers using its bullion bank services at BSI in January–February 2026, in line with a rise in gold prices. Anton Sukarna, Director of Sales and Distribution at BSI, said that since the start of 2026 the bank’s bullion bank customer base had grown by 44 percent year-to-date. Meanwhile, sales had reached 58 percent of the 2025 full-year realisation. He observed that customer interest in gold services had exceeded expectations.

He noted that the strong interest from customers was also driven by a significant upward trend in gold prices of around 50 percent over the past year. By Thursday (5 March 2026) gold price had reached Rp 3,049,000 per gram.

“This is also stimulated by the multiplier effect of global conditions related to tension in the Middle East, which influences gold demand as prices rise,” he added.

Additionally, BSI, Indonesia’s first bullion bank, provides real-time gold bullion purchases via its BYOND superapp. Customers can buy starting from around Rp50,000, and can also transfer gold balances to other BSI Gold accounts.

Sukarna said the bank expects demand for gold to continue increasing in the future. To anticipate rising demand, BSI has a robust inventory management system to ensure adequate gold stock. The bank is currently working with several suppliers and does not rule out adding more suppliers in the future, after appropriate studies and risk-management considerations.

“Therefore, BSI will ensure readiness on stock levels and educate customers to invest in gold gradually and with a long-term orientation. In any situation, BSI will continue to anticipate sufficient stock from suppliers and maintain effective inventory management,” he stated.
