Nugget and Sausage Factory Fire in Cikupa, Tangerang Suspected Caused by Electrical Short Circuit

TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - A fire at PT Adik Mart/CCK’s nugget and sausage factory in Telaga Village, Cikupa District, Tangerang Regency, is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. However, the Tangerang Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has handed over further investigation into the exact cause of the fire to the police. The fire began on Thursday (28 May 2026) at approximately 3:01 AM WIB and was only extinguished on Friday at around 3:00 AM WIB. ‘Due to the large area affected and the accumulation of burning materials, the team faced difficulties in extinguishing the fire,’ said Achmad. To combat the blaze, Tangerang Regency Disaster Management Agency deployed seven fire engines from various regions. Although the fire was extinguished, firefighters remain on standby at the site to prevent any resurgence of flames. ‘One standby position is at the site in case the fire reignites,’ said Achmad.
