Nubia, a sub-brand of ZTE, officially announced its latest gaming smartphone at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, Spain: the Nubia Neo 5 series. The Neo 5 series actually comprises three models: Neo 5, Neo 5 GT, and Neo 5 Max. However, only the specifications for the Neo 5 GT were disclosed. The standout feature is a built-in fan, i.e., an active cooling system built into the device, for the Neo 5 GT. This cooling system adopts a somewhat unique approach because such technology is usually internal to smartphones; in the Neo 5 GT, the fan is mounted on the side of the chassis. The Neo 5 GT arrives with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, 1.5K resolution, and a 144 Hz refresh rate. Its maximum brightness is listed at 4,500 nits. The display has very slim bezels, providing a comfortable viewing experience, and a punch-hole camera cutout sits in the top centre for a 16 MP front camera. On the photography side, the three rear cameras are housed within a pill-shaped module, with a trio of 50 MP sensors. The Neo 5 GT is powered by a MediaTek 7400 SoC paired with LPDDR Max RAM rated at up to 6,400 Mbps. RAM and storage options include 12/256 GB and 12/512 GB. The smartphone is backed by a 6,210 mAh battery that supports 80 W fast charging and includes bypass charging. The Neo 5 GT comes in three colours: Yellow, Grey, and White. The price starts from 399 euros, equivalent to around Rp 7.8 million. As reported by KompasTekno from GSM Arena, the Neo 5 GT is available globally and will debut first in Southeast Asian markets. While the other two siblings have yet to be announced in detail, the Neo 5 is tipped to cost around 299 euros (Rp 5.8 million), and the Neo 5 Max is said to feature a 7.5-inch display.
