NU Congress to be Held on 1-5 August 2026

JAKARTA - PBNU Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf has revealed that PBNU has set the 35th NU Congress to be held on 1-5 August 2026.

“Insha’ Allah, the NU Congress is planned and will be carried out from 1 to 5 August 2026,” said Saifullah, when met at the Ministry of Social Affairs office in Central Jakarta on Thursday (7/5/2026).

Gus Ipul, Saifullah’s familiar nickname, stated that technical preparations are still ongoing, including the location for the 35th Congress, which has not yet been decided.

In addition to the location, technical preparations also include preparing materials and verifying eligible participants for the Congress.

The results from the Munas and Konbes will be used as materials for the upcoming 35th Congress.

“We are also continuing to work to complete all decrees for branch regions that were previously delayed due to internal organisational dynamics,” he said.

Saifullah assured that all regional (PWNU) and branch (PCNU) managements are being processed properly in accordance with all existing provisions.

He invited regional management ranks to focus on preparing for the Congress and not to be swayed by unverified issues.

“If I am stated as refusing to sign, that is untrue and misleading news, because all decrees are signed with a fairly clear process,” said Gus Ipul.
