NU Congress to Be Held in August, Gus Ipul: Do Not Be Swayed by False Issues

It has been determined that the event will take place in August, but the date and venue have not yet been discussed and will be left to the first opportunity for the Rais Aam and the General Chairman to hold discussions first,” said Gus Ipul after attending the Halal Bihalal event of the Nahdlatul Ulama Student Association (IPNU) in Central Jakarta on Sunday (12/4/2026).

Gus Ipul stated that the core committee for the Muktamar has been formed, with himself serving as chairman. There is the PBNU Katib Am as the Steering Committee (SC), Mohammad Nuh as secretary of the SC, and Amin Said Husni as secretary of the Organising Committee (OC).

“We four are deliberating to propose names to complete the committee, which insyaallah will organise two events at once as a single series: the Musyawarah Nasional Alim Ulama and the Konferensi Besar Nahdlatul Ulama,” he said.

Gus Ipul reminded all regional and branch officials to focus on organising the Muktamar. He asked regional officials not to be swayed by untrue issues.

“I want to convey particularly to the regional and branch officials to be patient in following official information, do not be carried away by untrue issues. So everything is in process and everything is running conducively, running well,” he said.

In today’s event itself, Gus Ipul mentioned that preparations for the Muktamar were also discussed. Several figures were present, including the 13th Vice President of Indonesia, Ma’ruf Amin.

“This is our opportunity to meet, exchange thoughts, and also obtain the latest information on many things, one of which is the preparation for the Nahdlatul Ulama Muktamar,” he added.
