NU Congress Final Voter List Set, 557 Eligible Voters Meet Requirements

The organising committee of the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress has completed verification of the permanent voter list (DPT), confirming 557 eligible voters who meet the requirements. Rais Syuriyah of PBNU and Secretary of the Steering Committee (SC) of the 35th NU Congress, Mohammad Nuh, stated in Jombang on Wednesday (26/8/2026) that the number meets the quorum for the congress to proceed. “The DPT has been finalised at 557. The total was 590, so around 97 per cent. In terms of quorum, it is secure,” he said.

The committee verified data on the leadership of NU regional boards (PWNU), NU branch boards (PCNU), and NU special branch boards (PCINU) participating in the congress. The data includes the identities of rais syuriyah, katib syuriyah, chairmen, and secretaries, including the validity period of board decrees (SK).

Each PCNU sends four representatives, while PWNU and PCINU each send four as well. They consist of rais syuriyah, katib syuriyah, chairman, and secretary according to the verified leadership data.

According to Mohammad Nuh, around three per cent of boards not included in the DPT lack voting rights due to failure to meet administrative requirements, including board members who have died or whose leadership data has not been updated.

For PCINU specifically, he said, the issue of data updates is more complex because some board members are students abroad. After completing their studies and returning to Indonesia, there is not always a successor to continue the PCINU leadership in that country.
