NU 2026-2050 Roadmap to be the Responsibility of New Management
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chairperson of the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Muktamar Programme Commission, Alissa Wahid, stated that the formulation of the NU 202lar 2026–2050 Roadmap represents the long-term direction for NU leadership following the Lampung Muktamar and will be the responsibility of the newly appointed management.
“It will serve as the vision for the elected Rais Aam and General Chairperson at the 35th Muktamar; the fundamental outlines of this programme must serve as a reference and will be accounted for throughout the term of leadership, through both Munas-Konbes and the 36th Muktamar in 2031,” Alissa Wahid said during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to her, the primary objective of the NU 2026-2050 roadmap is the strengthening of the NU organisation. Alissa revealed that this long-term vision is considered vital as NU enters its second century, facing various new challenges.
Furthermore, Alissa emphasised that the roadmap is also directed towards strengthening NU’s service (khidmah) through four pillars. These four pillars encompass pesantren and Aswaja, the socio-economic welfare of NU members, the enhancement of NU human resource (SDM) excellence, and sustainable environmental preservation.
“This is an internal responsibility, directed towards the NU members who constitute 57 per cent of the Muslim population in Indonesia,” she said.
In addition to its internal focus, she noted that NU maintains a responsibility towards the nation and the world. According to Alissa, NU’s position as one of the major social forces in Indonesia makes its service to the nation and the global community an essential part of the organisation’s direction.
