NTT's 2026/2027 Upper Secondary School Admissions: Age Limits, Requirements, and Registration Schedule
Prospective new students who have graduated from lower secondary school in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) are now preparing to enter the upper secondary phase. Registration for the 2026 New Student Admission System (SPMB) for state upper secondary schools (SMA) and vocational schools (SMK) will open in mid-June.
To register for the 2026 SMA/SMK SPMB, attention must be paid to the requirements, documentation, and selection schedule. Based on the 2026 SPMB technical guidelines issued by the NTT Education and Culture Office, here is the complete information regarding the requirements, documents, and schedule.
General Requirements
Possess a diploma or certificate of completion from a lower secondary school, inclusive school, or equivalent. For the most recent graduates (2026), a school-issued certificate of graduation may be used.
Maximum age of 21 years on 1 July 2026.
Applicants via the domicile pathway must possess the original Family Card (KK), issued at least one year prior. A domicile certificate is not permitted.
If the Family Card has undergone data changes resulting in a change of domicile, it may still be used.
Conditions causing data changes are: addition of family members, reduction of family members (due to death or a family member moving out), loss, or damage.
If a data change occurs, the old Family Card must be brought along, whether the change involves family members or damage. New students who have lost their Family Card must bring a police report.
Applicants via the transfer pathway must bring proof of a parent’s official transfer letter.
Applicants via the affirmation pathway are from economically disadvantaged families and possess a Family Hope Programme (PKH) card, Indonesia Smart Card (KIP), Social Protection Card (KPS), Prosperous Family Card (KKS), including students with disabilities/special needs and those under priority ministry programmes.
Applicants via the academic achievement pathway must prepare a provisional diploma as it uses a combined system of average report card scores from semesters 1 to 5. Non-academic pathway applicants must prepare a certificate or trophy as a champion in sports or arts. This includes applicants using a certificate as student council president or scout leader.
Requirements for SPMB applicants at special schools have specifications determined by each school.
