NTT Yet to Fully Recover from Earthquake, Sido Muncul Channels Another Rp510 Million in Aid
Jakarta, VIVA – The recovery process following the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) still requires attention. A number of educational facilities, places of worship and community buildings were damaged by the earthquake that struck the Flores region.
In the next phase of disaster response, aid worth Rp510 million from PT Industri Jamu Dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk (Sido Muncul) has been distributed once again to support the needs of affected communities.
The aid was handed over symbolically by Sido Muncul’s Chief Executive, Dr. (H.C.) Irwan Hidayat, to several parishes, educational institutions, indigenous communities and health organisations at Sido Muncul’s office in Jakarta on Monday, 7 September 2026.
Previously, aid worth Rp400 million had also been channelled through the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) amounting to Rp300 million, and the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) amounting to Rp100 million.
Irwan Hidayat said the follow-up aid was provided because community needs remain considerable during the recovery process.
“On this occasion, we wish to convey our deepest condolences to the people of NTT. We also pray that everything will soon recover and they can return to their activities as before,” said Irwan Hidayat.
He added that future aid would continue to be directed towards the needs considered most urgent on the ground.
“We will continue to provide further assistance because the recovery process actually requires even more, whether for house repairs or other needs. We will keep trying to send aid in the form of money because that is what is most urgent and flexible for them,” Irwan added.
Irwan expressed hope that the aid would reach communities across the Flores region, including areas far from the centre of disaster relief operations.
“We hope the aid flowing in can ease the burden on all the people of Flores. I myself have been to Flores several times, around five or six times. May this recovery take place quickly and may everything return to normal,” said Irwan.
Aid Reaches Health Needs
Support has also been extended to the health sector. The Indonesian Orthopaedic and Traumatology Specialists Association also received aid to support the treatment of earthquake victims.
