NTT students hostel

I am from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and am now studying in a
private university in Jakarta. When I came in Jakarta in 1986 I
was told that there was a students hostel in Kebon Sirih, Central
Jakarta. But since then I have never heard of any intellectual
activities taking place in the hostel.

Some time ago I happened to pass by the hostel. I was so
surprised to see the poor condition of the building. Who is
really responsible for its bad maintenance? In this relation I
would like to suggest to the Governor of the East Nusa Tenggara
and the NTT community leaders to:

* Renovate the building and provide it with necessary
equipment so that it can be used for carrying out intellectual
activities.

* To find a new location on which a new building can be built
if, as rumored, the building is to be sold.

Those who now stay in the hostel should support any effort for
the restoration of the building. And societal leaders can also
play a role in the effort to enhance the quality of the human
resources, particularly the younger generation of the NTT
province.
