NTT Regional Police Prepare 22 Nutrition Service Units to Support Free Nutritious Meal Programme
The Chief of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police, Inspector General Rudi Darmoko, stated that the NTT Regional Police have prepared 2scale 22 Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG) points to support the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme, while simultaneously addressing nutritional issues in the province.
“At this time, we have prepared 22 SPPG points spread across various regencies and cities in NTT,” he said in Kupang on Monday, responding to the NTT Regional Police’s efforts to support the central government’s programme to eradicate malnutrition in NTT.
He explained that of the 22 SPPG points, 16 are currently in the construction and renovation phase. “Three points are in the operational preparation stage, and three others are already actively operating to serve the community,” he added.
According to the Chief, these SPPG points are capable of reaching thousands of beneficiaries, including students, pregnant women, and vulnerable populations across various regions such as East Flores, Alor, West Sumba, East Manggarai, Belu, North Central Timor (TTU), Sikka, South Central Timor (TTS), and Kupang City.
Various local food ingredients, including maize, seafood, eggs, moringa leaves, fresh vegetables, chicken, and local agricultural produce, form part of the MBG menu, which is tailored to the specific conditions of each region. Furthermore, the entire food processing process is conducted under high hygienic standards and strict supervision by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Health Affairs unit to ensure food quality and safety before distribution to beneficiaries.
Nevertheless, the NTT Regional Police continue to conduct evaluations and strengthen cooperation with local governments, local vendors, farmer groups, and MSMEs to ensure the programme remains optimal and sustainable.
“Through the spirit of the ‘NTT Regional Police Full of Love’ initiative, we want to ensure that the presence of the Police is truly felt by the community. This is a long-term investment for the future of the children of NTT and the progress of the region,” said NTT Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Darmoko.
