Kupang, NTT (ANTARA) - The Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) Provincial Animal, Fish, and Plant Quarantine Agency recorded commodity traffic value of Rp2.1 trillion up to April 2026, boosting regional economic growth. “According to Best Trust data, the value of commodities entering and exiting NTT via ports and airports up to April 2026 reached Rp2.1 trillion,” said Simon Soli, Head of the NTT Provincial Animal, Fish, and Plant Quarantine Agency, in Kupang on Wednesday. Simon presented the commodity traffic data during a coordination meeting discussing regional economic indicators and strategies to strengthen trade in NTT’s flagship commodities. Simon highlighted NTT’s key export commodities, including table eggs, fresh kingfish, and tomatoes. He added that these achievements demonstrate NTT’s flagship commodities are increasingly penetrating export markets and making tangible contributions to regional economic growth. He also explained that quarantine oversight not only focuses on preventing pests and diseases but also supports the smooth distribution of commodities and inter-regional trade. He stated that the safe and compliant movement of commodities is crucial for maintaining economic stability and supporting the growth of community businesses.
