Kupang, NTT - The NTT Regional Office of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has assured the readiness of the Kupang Haj Dormitory to welcome prospective pilgrims from the region, from accommodation and transportation to supporting facilities, ahead of their departure to the Holy Land.

“Regarding accommodation, 42 rooms with a capacity of 168 beds have been prepared for prospective pilgrims who will transit at the Kupang Haj Dormitory,” said Acting Head of Administration Section of the NTT Kemenhaj Regional Office, Fuaddus Salam, in Kupang on Monday.

The office has undertaken several preparations, including sterilisation of the lodging for prospective pilgrims scheduled to enter the facility starting Thursday (7/5).

The dormitory building has three floors with a total of 48 rooms, each containing four beds, resulting in 168 units. Available facilities include hot water, television, and Wi-Fi.

He stated that not all prospective pilgrims will transit in Kupang, as the majority will depart directly from their home areas to the Surabaya embarkation point.

There are 474 pilgrims departing from the region to Surabaya, while nine will wait directly in Surabaya (four from Belu Regency and five from Ende Regency).

“For pilgrims staying at the dormitory, we will provide the best service. All facilities are prepared to support the comfort of the pilgrims as guests of Allah heading to the Holy Land, from accommodation, meals, to departure to the airport,” he said.

For the 2026 Haj season, NTT is grouped into two flight clusters, namely clusters 80 and 81, with a total of 483 people.

All pilgrims are scheduled to depart from Kupang to Surabaya on 10 May 2026, enter the Sukolilo Haj Dormitory on 11 May 2026, and then on 12 May 2026, be farewelled directly by the NTT Governor from Juanda Airport in Surabaya to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
