NTB targets 140,000 spectators for Mandalika MotoGP
Mataram (ANTARA) - The West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government is targeting a total attendance of 140,000 for the MotoGP at Mandalika Circuit on 9-11 October 2026.
Lalu Moh Faozal, Assistant 2 to the Regional Secretariat of the NTB Provincial Government, said the target of 140,000 spectators covers the three days of the MotoGP event.
“Our target is 65,000 on the peak day. In total, around 140,000 over three days. That is the target,” he said in Mataram on Monday.
He explained that the spectator target is based on the trend of previous MotoGP editions. Moreover, ticket sales have been opened well in advance.
“Because the tickets were publicised earlier, we hope the results will be better,” said Faozal.
Faozal affirmed that ticket sales will continue to be monitored so progress can be assessed against the expected target.
Attendance at the MotoGP at Mandalika Circuit has risen steadily since the event was first held in 2022. In 2022, the number of spectators was recorded at 102,801, while in 2023 it reached 102,929. In 2024, attendance stood at 121,252, and in 2025 at 140,324.
Meanwhile, the Head of the NTB Tourism Office, Ahmad Nur Aulia, acknowledged that the NTB Provincial Government has already made a number of preparations ahead of this year’s MotoGP. In particular, regarding tickets, the government will encourage the organisers to maximise sales.
“Because this relates to strategy, we have naturally taken preparatory steps to ensure that the fifth edition of the MotoGP at Mandalika Circuit runs smoothly and successfully, given the experience we have accumulated so far,” he said.
He said that in terms of marketing and promotion, particularly regarding spectator tickets, his office, together with the organisers, must ensure that the tickets sold are well received in the market, which will in turn influence the number of spectators watching the event live at the circuit.
“To that end, the sales system is being pushed towards a digital basis, because in this era purchases can be made through applications or platforms as the main method accessed via mobile phones,” said Aulia.
In addition, Aulia said that on the promotional side, his office will strengthen the channels used to market the event, ranging from mass media, social media, influencers and other digital media, in order to reach a wider audience.
“We will optimise the digital process so that access is easier and faster for the public, so that the spectator target that has been set can be achieved,” he said.
