NTB Regional Police send aid for NTT earthquake victims

The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police have sent aid to assist victims of the earthquake that struck large parts of East Nusa Tenggara Province.

NTB Police Chief Inspector General Kalingga Rendra Raharja said in Mataram on Monday that the dispatch of aid was a form of empathy from the NTB Police towards the people of NTT who are facing a natural disaster.

“Today we pray for our brothers and sisters in NTT who have experienced the earthquake. For those affected, may they be granted fortitude and sincerity,” he said after dispatching eight trucks carrying logistical assistance in the form of clothing and food for the NTT earthquake victims at the Bhara Daksa field of the NTB Police headquarters.

In addition to preparing logistical aid, the NTB Police have also deployed personnel to help address the psychological impact on victims.

A total of 10 National Police psychology personnel have been deployed to support trauma recovery activities for affected communities.

“We have also prepared health workers to support this humanitarian effort,” he said.

Further support has been prepared by the NTB Mobile Brigade Unit. The NTB Police have deployed Brimob SAR personnel who are ready to assist in search and rescue operations in affected areas.

“For Brimob, we have them on standby. They will remain ready to be mobilised to help our colleagues in NTT whenever needed,” he said.

Coinciding with the celebration of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, the NTB Police Chief urged the public to use the occasion as a reminder of the importance of unity and compassion, especially towards those facing disaster.

“Amid the spirit of independence, let us prove that Indonesia’s strength lies in unity, mutual cooperation, humanity, and care for one another,” he said.
