The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has received 11 sacrificial cows as aid from President Prabowo Subianto for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE. These 11 sacrificial cows will be distributed to all regencies and cities in Bumi Gora.

Head of the People’s Welfare Bureau (Kesra) of the NTB Regional Secretariat (Setda), Amir, stated that the cows provided by President Prabowo consist of one for the provincial government and one each for the 10 regencies and cities in NTB.

“The President’s cow aid is one for the province and one each for the regencies and cities, so we received a total of 11,” said Amir after the Plenary Session at the NTB Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), on Monday (27/4/2026).

The former Acting Head of the NTB Library and Archives Service explained that the locations for these sacrificial animals are determined by each regency and city. The list of locations has been sent to the State Secretariat (Setneg).

Meanwhile, the cow for the NTB Provincial Government will be given to Al Hidayah Mosque in Bima Regency. The distribution to the mosque follows instructions from NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal.

“Why Al Hidayah Mosque? Because the Governor wants the provincial one to be rotated among the regencies and cities. Coincidentally, during several presidential visits to NTB, prayers were held there—from Jokowi’s visits, previously SBY, and Prabowo,” said Amir.

Head of the NTB Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Service (Disnakeswan), Muhammad Riadi, explained that his team has assessed candidate sacrificial cows for presidential aid in each regency and city. Each regency and city proposed three candidate cows, from which one was selected.

“Each regency gets one, and the province one. So NTB receives a total of 11 presidential aid sacrificial animals,” said Riadi.

The NTB Disnakeswan team, along with the Kesra Bureau of the NTB Setda, stated Riadi, has conducted assessments in the regencies and cities. After that, it was submitted to the State Secretariat (Setneg) for approval. The heaviest presidential aid cow weighs 1.007 tonnes from a breeder in North Lombok. “That’s the heaviest so far based on the data received,” he revealed.

The cow from the breeder in North Lombok was offered at a price of Rp 200 million. However, its value may be lower due to price negotiations by the central government.

“So later the State Secretariat will also calculate the mobilisation costs for these sacrificial cows. If that (price) is determined by Setneg, not us. We only propose and try to negotiate if the price is unreasonable,” explained Riadi.
