NTB Provincial Government to Centralise Eid Prayer 2026 at Governor's Office Grounds

The Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) Provincial Government will centralise the performance of the Eid al-Fitr prayer for the year 1447 Hijri at the grounds of the NTB Governor’s Office. This plan was announced by NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal.

“The Eid prayer will take place in front of or at the grounds of the governor’s office. So we will all pray together here,” said Iqbal at his office on Monday (16 March 2026).

Iqbal noted that holding the Eid prayer at the NTB Governor’s Office grounds was not being planned for the first time. In the previous year, the Eid prayer was also scheduled to be held at the same location.

However, the previous event had to be relocated due to unfavourable weather conditions.

“We are returning here now. Last year’s Eid al-Fitr was supposed to be here, but because of rain it was moved to the Hubbul Wathan Islamic Centre Mosque,” he said.

The former Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey explained that this year’s Eid prayer will follow the schedule set by the central government. He also noted that differences in the timing of Eid prayer performances need not be a matter of concern.

“In any case, all NTB Provincial Government journalists are to join in the Eid prayer here,” he said.

Iqbal expressed hope that the 2026 Eid prayer at the NTB Governor’s Office grounds will proceed smoothly without any issues. He also hoped that the weather would be favourable during the Eid prayer.

“Regarding the Islamic Centre, in any case we will centralise this year’s Eid prayer here. Hopefully the weather will be pleasant,” he concluded.
